Festival of British Youth Orchestras, cancelled – No money, no music

In these times of financial problems and tight budgets, culture is sacrificed in order to make extra bucks for other things.  And among the many victims of this process, the Festival of British Youth Orchestras is one more. The organising body of this Festival, the National Association of Youth Orchestras (NAYO) that is presided by our man, has said that they are “apologetic and sad”, but that there is no way around it: if they want to make it through the year, the Festival is a no-no… at least for 2010.  The Herald from Scotland tells us more about this sad decision…
